Jan 1, 2016. Happy New Year.

Good Morning. Woke up with achy feet. Legs were ok, no pain. I have a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge just outside my tent. Took a picture of the finisher’s medal with the bridge on the background. Runners doing the 24hrs were still on the course. The event officially ended at 9AM, with the awards ceremony for the top finishers around 9:15AM. This would conclude the event, New Year’s One Day.
For me, it’s the start of another journey. Took an Uber back to the hotel to get my luggage. Had a quick lunch in the area. Then another Uber to the Amtrak Bus Station, for the bus ride to the Emeryville Train Station.
Contacted an old teacher/mentor in High School when I was at the Emeryville Station. He picked me up and we went driving around the area. It’s been 30 years and still the same familiar face. Thank you, Sir, for the ginataan, the dinner, and the company.
The train trip from Emeryville to Seattle would be the start of another journey. This time, to visit an old friend. Boarded the train, took a shower, and slept in. Goodnight.
