Mr. Grumps

Hello 2019. Meet Grumpy Kirby, aka Mr. Grumps. You may have known him during his playful days. He has aged since then and retired from that playful and lovable character, but he’s still funny at times. He loves adventures and has done sports events from marathons to triathlons to ultras, but enjoys camping, exploring and hiking nowadays. He has asked me to join him in his adventures. Dark Hollow Falls.  Skyline Drive Mile 50.7.  Listed Distance RT – 1.4 miles. Rose … Continue reading More Waterfalls Hikes @ SNP

In a nutshell, this circuit hike starts at the Hawksbill Gap parking lot @ Skyline Drive mile 45.6, descending the Cedar Run trail until it meets the Whiteoak Canyon trail. It’s all hike up from there … Continue reading Cedar Run – Whiteoak Canyon Falls

“Never let this day go to waste” A phrase I kept repeating on the way here. It’s rain all day in almost the whole east coast. Hurricane Michael is all over the southeast area, causing havoc in parts of Florida. I can’t stay home. Today is no ordinary day. I need to go out. Going up north, to Niagara Falls – not really cost effective given the late planning. Going down south, to Shenandoah National Park – feasible with a side trip to see the Great Falls @ Virginia. Rain on the way, heavy at times, but I got some … Continue reading Great Falls Park, Virginia
