What is an adventure?
Merriam-Webster defines it as
“an undertaking usually involving danger and unknown risks”
I disagree.
An adventure doesn’t have to be synonymous to just something dangerous. Sure, a climb to the top of Mt Everest is an adventure. Yes, a thru-hike on the Appalachian Trail is an adventure. But even a simple thing could be an adventure. A road trip is an adventure. A travel to an unfamiliar place is an adventure. Heck, even a walk in the park is an adventure.
For me, an adventure is
“something you do in which the outcome is unknown, yet gives you a feeling of excitement and satisfaction before, during, or after”
A wise-ass would then ask,
“is sex then an adventure?”
Maybe. Sex may be an adventure because
- You don’t know the outcome.
- You may have a feeling of excitement before and during.
- If you get a feeling of dissatisfaction after, then it becomes a misadventure.
