I’ve been going to Sourland Mtn Preserve for several years now. It has become my Go To place for my weeekday and weekend trail runs. I’ve covered all the trails in all seasons, at different times of day. I’ve seen deer, listened to birds singing, and used my imagination and named some trees on this preserve. Today, I am taking a break from running and simply enjoying my time doing a slow hike and taking pictures of what Sourland has to offer. Here are some pictures of things that I have oftentimes ignored when doing a trail run.

For today’s hike, all laced up and ready to go…

Having a peak at ‘Spirit’ tree’s behind

Here’s something I wrote sometime back when I first saw the above…
Everytime, I feel you
Up and down I go
Repeatedly, I come
Sweaty and satisfied

‘Survivor’ tree. A closer look.

‘Happy Donut’ tree, AKA ‘Bagel’ tree.

I’m your trail, don’t trash me…

Have you explored the new Blue trail yet?
Sourlands Mtn Preserve is a local gem in Central Jersey – a good place to visit to be with nature, and just to unwind.
Just remember some trail etiquette when visiting this place. Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints.
Enjoy.
